Star trek is an american science fiction franchise spanning multiple tv series, books, movies and more, begining with 'star trek' aired in 1966, and still continuing to this day.
Star trek is a worldwide phenomenom, having shaped modern fandom & geek culture. Fans of Star trek are known as "trekkies".

I got into star trek as a child. There was a TV station that would play random reruns of Voyager, Deep space nine and The next Generation.at the time I was into any science fiction I could get my hands on, so its not surprise it caught my attention. not long after this the 2009 Star Trek film was released and I loved it! unfortunatley the TV station I would watch star trek on shut down, and I moved on to other things.
Years later, I re-awoke my love for star trek and i havent looked back since. I love the star trek fandom and all it has brought me!
